Purpose of the Job (overall high level summary of the job)
The role holder will work as part of Country Corporate Service OM Team with responsibility for the effective financial planning and reporting of the Global Corporate Services (CS) function.
It is important the role holder is comfortable working for a large, complex international organisations with stakeholder contact being required at country, regional and global levels. The day-to-day delivery of the role will require the role holder to establish and maintain strong relationships at global, regional and country levels within CS.
? Country AOP and forecast exercises planned, implemented and executed on time as directed by OM Lead, CS
? Fully reconciled submission of AOP data from the CS MI system to the Finance system, Fusion
? Outputs from the CS MI system fully reconcile to plans submitted by regions and functions
? Effective MI produced to support meetings with key stakeholders at a regional and country level within the function.
? Concise MI prepared for ExCo meetings and other meetings as required.
? All deadlines set by Global /Regional Finance met.
? Positive stakeholder feedback from the CS ExCo, Finance and Stakeholders.
? Regarded as a trusted and knowledgeable point of contact for planning issues
? Resolve queries in a timely manner
How they are achieved/measured
? Planning Management - Closely work with the service providers and the customer groups on CS Annual Operating Plans & Forecasts, and AOP process’ continuous improvements, and to ensure the cost saving target is achieved effectively and efficiently. In parallel, to review both Direct Costs and Charges to the other Businesses and Functions. Support the implementation of AOP process improvement.
? Lead CRE finance operation and MI & Reports to provide finance support on Total Property Cost including payment, cost control, Strategic Cost Management Saves tracker; To deliver China CS’ MI and Report as required by global business, branches, FIN, ASP Team and Global Team, etc.; In parallel, to conduct appropriate MI analysis and commentary between AOP and actual and/or AOP and forecasting submissions.
? CS and Finance system management - Supervise performance of Global Portfolio Management provider, CBRE to provide crucial metrics, MI and intelligent insight to enable pro-active portfolio planning based on accurate and complete data platform. To take the responsibility of reconciliation / review on AssureNET/Fusion /FMS (Recharges System) related to all CS activities (across all HSBC entities served by CS). Use knowledge of financial data, trends and CS metrics to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data.
? CS Finance Governance - To develop a comprehensive understanding of CS countrywide expenditure & recharges and will produce timely and insightful management information for the CS ExCo, Stakeholders, Business Partners and Finance, based on data from CS and Finance systems, to support decision making.
? WFOE Finance Handling – to support WFOE finance matters with other Businesses and Functions including but not limited to reviewing the finance figure in finance system (AssureNET), preparing the report to local regulatory body e.g. statistical bureau, issuing the debit note and invoice, etc.,
? Work closely with the Operational Intelligence team, CS Function teams and Finance regionally – plus the Global CRE teams - to support the effective financial management of the function. Act as co-ordination point for queries on planning activities.

The major challenge of the job holder is not only to provide hands-on, all-round property related services to meet the client's entities’ increasing property requirements in China in the cost effective manner despite the difficulty to obtain up-to-date and reliable sales/rental property transactions and other property information in China, but also to lead all the service providers to provide the optimal services.
Negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, creative mind, lateral thinking and analytical skills are required for solving the day-to-day problem, the knowledge of financial data, trends and CS metrics to provide advice and recommendation and for the improvement of budget forcasting and planning process given the difficult environment in which the job holder is working.

Corporate Services (CS) is responsible for managing property portfolio across the country from offices and branches to data centers used by client's colleagues of different China entities to support the business needs and operational effectiveness goals of the Organization.
CS, as one of the Global Functions, enables the business to achieve that aim. Working closely with the Global Businesses, Global Functions, customers and colleagues, CS is responsible for planning, devising and delivering the best-in-class offices, facilities and workplaces for client - supporting the business needs and operational effectiveness goals of the Organization.
Under a Target Operating Model, we drive a globally consistent standardization approach to operating practices and services by leveraging the Group's scale leading to a significant improvement in operational effectiveness. We operate under globally consistent supplier selection and procurement processes, supported by a common data platform, all underpinned by consistent vendor management and strong local relationship management of our customers. The intent is to develop a structure which drives change and operational efficiency in our specialist area.
The role holder will be expected to work with regional and country local finance teams to ensure CS finances are managed in a robust, consistent and compliant manner, particularly in areas such as vacant space provisioning, accruals, depreciation, rent free amortization and net book values.
