Job Title: Graduate Sustainability Consultant or Consultant
Role Purpose: CBRE are looking for a dynamic individual who is looking to start/ grow their career in sustainability and ESG. The role will comprise delivery of asset level advice to support the implementation of ESG strategies for investment funds. Someone with a good level of understanding of relevant assessment methodologies (e.g. GRESB, BREEAM, LEED, Fitwel, WELL) and up to two years of experience would be suitable for this role.
The position reports to the ESG Programme Manager and Asset & Certification Lead
? Manage sustainability ‘Star Standard’ delivery with ESG Programme Manager who manages asset level delivery to fund level.
? Data gathering, analysis and reporting, contributing to fund performance and progress against sustainability objectives (e.g. GRESB)
? Preparation of presentation decks, meeting minutes and client updates
? Collect, monitor and report the implementation of sustainability strategies at project level to ensure the targets set are successfully achieved.
? Support the monitoring and review of green building certifications and sustainability strategies carried out by external consultants
? Liaise with team Technical Specialists to get advice and guidance on specific areas to help with Client reporting, e.g. EPCs, energy assessments, air quality, wellness, due diligence, flood risk, carbon assessments.
? Support with GRESB reporting
? Support the team with advising stakeholders predominantly at an asset level,
? Help with establishing and driving asset specific sustainability strategies and communicating these to a range of stakeholders.
? Develop technical knowledge of how buildings are designed, constructed and operate.
? Support the team with requests for information regarding a range of ESG topics predominantly at an asset level, including project and programme updates.
? Review industry news and assist in preparing internal and external articles and thought leadership
? Work with wider team to monitor changes in legislation and best practice to ensure continuing legal compliance and best practice in the UK.
? Ad hoc support to wider team with key deliverables as and when needed
PERSON SPECIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS
? A relevant Batchelors degree in (e.g., Engineering, Environmental Design), Masters preferable
? Work experience in an industry related field e.g. built environment sector, real estate is preferable
? Understanding of certification methodologies; ie GRESB, BREEAM, LEED, Fitwel, WELL
? Understanding of key ESG issues affecting investors.
? Knowledge of statutory legislation and other standards.
? Exceptional written and oral communication skills: articulate, assertive and confident
? Experience in preparing and creating reports.
? Good communication/presentation skills, willingness to present.
? Excellent understanding of MS Office, namely Excel, and Google Applications
? Strong attention to detail.
? A desire to learn, problem-solve and manage multiple priorities.
? Proficient in English
